Title 1 is a federally funded program where Title 1 educators organize school wide activities for all students at East Taunton Elementary School as well as provide direct reading instruction to struggling readers. Title 1 reading instruction is in addition to the literacy component that the classroom teacher provides on a daily basis. At ETES we use an assessment called DIBELS to assess where your childś strengths and weaknesses lie in reading. Title 1 educators use specific instructional methods to help students acquire a strong skill set and gain confidence so they are successful in becoming lifelong readers.
