A little about me...

Hello, for those of you who may not know me, my name is Mrs. Teresa Staton.   I have been a special educator for the past 30 years.  Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a pre-school teacher assistant  for 2 years at Hanscom AFB as well as Minot AFB.  This is where my love for teaching first began.  My teaching career includes 7 years working in substantially separate classrooms with students with autism spectrum disorder.  Following that I spent a year in the Providence Public Schools as a special educator for grades K-12 working with students who spoke Spanish.  I was finally able to land a job here in Taunton where I am proud to say I grew up and currently reside.  I have enjoyed working for the TPS, first as an ELL special educator for children who spoke Portuguese or Spanish and then working with children with special needs from K-12.  Currently and for the past 6 years I have enjoyed serving as a special educator in kindergarten.  This year I will be co-teaching with Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Pinheiro.
Besides being a teacher, I am a spouse, a mother to 3 adult children, and a grandmother to a 1 year old little boy.  I enjoy spending time with my family, my 2 dogs, my rabbits, gardening, and camping by the ocean.
Teaching is not just a job, but a passion.  I hope to make your child's experience a positive one and assist them in their own personal growth and development.  I look forward to working with you and your children in making it a very good school year.
