ETES WEEKLY DIGITAL COMMUNICATION
Happy October East Taunton Elementary School Families,
If you missed our updates last Friday, the Fall Harvest Festival has been rescheduled to October 22nd from 1-4pm. Tickets will be available at the event. Please contact our PTO if you have any questions regarding the event. They can be reached by email at [email protected] .
The NED Show presentation will be rescheduled to a virtual presentation in the fall and live presentation in the spring. We are working with a consultant to reschedule these dates. Please send any Yo-Yo fundraiser forms by Friday, October 7th. We will be filling these orders as soon as the products are delivered to our school.
The character trait for the month of October is Empathy. This month we are looking for students who can be empathetic towards others. This includes understanding and identifying the feelings and emotions of others. We will be teaching students about the word empathy and how they can demonstrate this behavior here at school.
HAPPENING THIS WEEK: October 3-7
- Picture Day is Wednesday, October 5, 2022. If you are interested in purchasing student portraits, you can order using the order form that was sent home last week or you can order online by going to mylifetouch.com and using our code: EVTQBNDDV. Our picture retake day is scheduled for November 9th. If you are unhappy with your first photo or your child is absent on October 5th, they can have their photo taken on November 9th.
- There will be a BUS SAFETY presentation for all of our students. A representative from Bloom Bus company will be in to review bus conduct and safety expectations for all of our students. This will be a great opportunity to discuss bus riding expectations and will be helpful for all students, even those who do not typically ride the bus as it will prepare everyone for field trips that will take place later this year.
- Orange Day is on Friday, October 7th. October is national bullying prevention month. On Friday we will WEAR ORANGE to come together in one giant message uniting our nation for kindness, acceptance and inclusion, and even the world, to visibly show that we believe no child should ever experience bullying.
- Columbus Day Weekend- There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 10, 2022 in observance of Columbus Day.
Future Events
- Wednesday, October 12th will be our next PTO meeting from 6:30-7:30 in our school library.
- Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month on Friday, October 14, 2022.
- Student of the Month Celebration- Each month we celebrate students who demonstrate behaviors that coincide with our monthly character trait. In September we focused on Kindness. On Tuesday, October 18th we will hold a virtual celebration where students will be recognized as Student of the Month for demonstrating kindness at ETES. Families of students being honored will be receiving details on how to attend virtually on October 18th.
