ETES WEEKLY DIGITAL COMMUNICATION
Hello ETES Families,
We hope our families enjoyed their long weekend together. As cooler weather approaches please remember to send your child dressed appropriately for colder temps. We do expect to send our students out for outdoor recess, provided it is not raining or snowing at the time of their recess and as long as the temperature outdoors is slightly above 30 degrees fahrenheit (depending on windchill factor). It is very important to send your students to school with coats. If your child is in need of a warm winter coat, please reach out to us. It is also helpful to practice zipping, snapping, and fastening coats to ensure that we can transition out for recess quickly, so that more time can be enjoyed outdoors.
HAPPENING THIS WEEK: November 14th-18th
- Students are turning in their tickets for prizes at our PAWSOME School Store this week. Classes have been scheduled to visit the school store during their lunch times this week.
- The Scholastic Book Fair will be taking place this entire week. Classes have been scheduled throughout the week. We invite families to set up eWallets for their students to use at the book fair. Please check out the news and announcement section below to see more about our book fair.
- We did it! Over 65% of students registered for our FUN RUN. As promised we will have a School Wide Pajama Day on Tuesday, November 15th.
- Parent Teacher Conferences are taking place this week. Please be sure that you have contacted your child’s teacher to set up an appointment.
- There will be an Early Release Day on Thursday, November 17th due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Dismissal will begin at 1:10pm. The Book Fair will be open to families during conferences on Thursday!
- We are reaching the 50th Day of School for students. We hope you will celebrate the 50th day of learning by dressing in the 1950s era. Please do not feel that you need to purchase a costume to participate. Think white t-shirt and jeans rolled at the cuff. 50’s Day is Friday, November 18th!
Future Events
- Student of the Month Celebration for Empathy will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd. Parents will be invited virtually by your child’s classroom teacher. Grades Pk-2 will take place at 10am and grades 3-4 will take place at 11am. Again more information will be sent to families this week via your child’s classroom teacher.
- Fall/Thanksgiving break will take place November 23rd-24th. There will be NO SCHOOL on those three days November 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
- December 4th will be Taunton's Annual Holiday Parade. ETES will be in the parade this year. A flyer was sent home in student backpacks this week.
FUN RUN THANK YOU
Families, we can’t thank you enough for all of your support in our FUN RUN event that took place last week on November 10th. Pure joy and excitement was on the faces of all of our students the morning of the big event. We celebrated together, exceeding our registration goal with 69% of our students registered and exceeding the fundraising goal reaching $17,961. We could not have done this without you and your efforts to promote our event. Your friends and families really went above and beyond at 73% of our goals were met from Non-Parent pledging. We feel so fortunate to have such an amazing Bulldog Community. Please extend our gratitude and appreciation to all who supported us.
STUDENT OF THE MONTH CHARACTER TRAIT
The character trait for the month of November is Gratitude. Given the season and upcoming holiday, we know there is a lot to be grateful and thankful for. This month we are looking for students who demonstrate gratitude regularly.
PTO Updates
Taunton’s Annual Christmas/Holiday Parade will be taking place on December 4th. ETES will be participating in the parade this year and the PTO is looking for your support. If you would like to join the committee for our Holiday Float, please see the information in the News and Announcement Section below.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Nichols, Principal
Mrs. Dalessio, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Emard, Assistant Principal
